Jack

Rulo’s Black Jack is an energetic, strong and happy English Springer Spaniel. His mother is Harvest Moon’s Renegade Ruby (AFC) and his father is Rockey’s Solo (two-time National Field Champion.) His owner, Richard Radtke, is both the trainer and the handler. Jack currently has his AFC and is only 3 points away from his FC. He competed in the 2022 National Open, the 2023 National Amateur where he made it to the fourth series but was pulled because it was too hot and the 2025 National Amateur.

Jack was born on 7/23/2019. He is black and white with a lot of ticking and currently weighs 47 pounds. Jack loves to go for walks, go to the lake to practice water retrieves and play outside. If we’re around the yard he stays pretty close by. He loves daily and weekly training sessions and rides very nice in the kennel in the back of the truck. He thinks field trials are even better! He gets so excited, but once he’s on the field he listens well, runs fast, and uses the wind well. He has a phenomenal nose and has made some incredibly long and difficult retrieves. Rick has received many positive comments about Jack from various field trial judges.

He is great indoor dog, having the run of the entire basement and entry way, where he can sit and keep an eye on what’s going on outside, but he knows that he cannot go beyond that point. All of our dogs have been trained to stay off the furniture (unless mom is sitting in the recliner). This makes it really easy since he stays in the hotels with us when traveling for field trials. He and his mother and little brother also spend time in outdoor runs when the weather is nice and seems to enjoy that as well.
